Who can enter?

The Stilettos to Steel Toes Essay Contest is open to all sophomore, junior or senior (May/June graduation) engineering majors who are members of a participating SWE section or partners organizations (WISEST, POWE). To see this year’s participating schools, please click the “SCOREBOARD” tab above.

Why should I enter?

This is a great opportunity to win money and support your section. Sounds like a good enough reason!
But this is also a chance for you to really consider your future and chart your own career path. Think outside the shoebox and consider all your career options and alternatives!

What is the topic?

Where will your shoes take you?
Ever felt like you were aimlessly following the same path as every one else? It is time to think about what YOU can DO and how FAR your career can go. Will you choose your own direction, walk off the beaten path, embrace the challenges of a non-traditional career? Why don’t you begin by putting on the right shoes and tell us how you will create your own path and where your shoes will take you.

What are the rules?

Have fun! Your essay must be 100-350 words, but feel free to get creative with the format.  For more details please click the “OFFICIAL RULES” tab above. No more than one entry per member is permitted and essays must be submitted online by midnight CST October 15, 2012.
