- “Where will your shoes take you?” Tell us why a nontraditional job is the way to go.
- Write a short essay, 100-350 words
- Win cash, raise money for your section
Awards
- GRAND PRIZE! $2,000 and an expense paid trip to the SWE 2012 National Conference in Houston, TX
- Individual winners per section: 1st: $1,000 2nd: $500 3rd: $250
- Section awards: $100 per entry
- Section with the most submissions: $2,000
- Region awards: 50% of total section prize money to support the Spring Regional Conference
Rules
- Must be sophomore, junior, or senior to enter (graduating on or before June 2015)
- Must be a SWE member of participating section or partners organizations (WISEST, POWE)
- Must be an engineering major
- Schlumberger will select the winning essays
- All winners are final
- Essay length should be 100 to 350 words
- Theme is “Where will your shoes take you?”
- Judged on originality and creativity - technical content optional
- Essay must be submitted directly to Schlumberger
- One entry per member
- Each section must submit a minimum of 20 original essays to be eligible for cash awards
- Maximum number of essays for cash prizes is 150
